Welcome to grpahic design my friend

SO!
What is graphic design!?
I think graphic design is the process of making art in many ways...then selling it! Not to hang on your wall however, but to communicate ideas and messages to other people. Prime examples of graphic design are billboards, street signs, brand labels, any pictures on your clothes in fact.

Graphic design is aboslutly everywhere...except in the middle of a desert, or the arctic...or in the middle of the amazon rain forest. BUT! everywhere else you can see someones image, or visual message plastered somewhere, trying to tell you to do something. And thats what i think graphic design is.

DESKTOP MAGAZINE

Desktop is a fantastic magazine covering everything from design to the latest technological trends associated in the industry.

I read an interesting artical about a well named brand "playstation" who specialise in entertainment systems and video games, has gone and jumped on the smartphone bandwagon. I find this a bit "sheepish" of sony as i think they should pride themselves in to making something new and unique rather then have a competeting piece of technology which will probably fail to win 1st place.

The biennale

Not long ago I took a train ride to sydney then caught the ferry to cockatoo island. The art was scattered all over this small eerie island. While walking around the island i noticed some of the video artwork was a bit messed up. Especially a quite disturbing piece where a quite strong man was drowning this poor girl in a 44 gallon drum full of water over and over. A few massive pieces of work were quite well done. One artwork in particular consisted of bout 6 or 7 life sized cars hanging from the roof with multiple rods coming out each one with a light at each tip. The scale of this artwork is what made it so spectacular to view.
